Health Assurance vs Health Insurance

Health assurance is now, the present - you are assuring that your healthy on a day to day basis. For health insurance you are paying for the future and the risk of what may happen. I was having a conversation with a long time client the other day… and she was telling me how a friend was asking her why she still sees a trainer after losing 14lbs. She went on to explain that being held accountable motivates her to keep on track and continue getting healthier, and doing her homework (exercise on her own). Her long term health cost will be cheaper by taking care of the inside and outside of her body now. Personal training can seem expensive, but we all know how expensive health insurance is these days. When you boil it down, hiring a personal trainer now is a lot cheaper in the long run than paying high premiums, co-pays, and medications for a medical condition that could have been prevented by daily exercise and a moderate meal plan. Consistent exercise and temprant eating habits aid in :

-lowering blood pressure

-decreasing risk of diabetes

-decreasing in cholesterol

-increasing balance and stability (decreases risk of a fall and broken bones)

-increasing bone density

-decreasing body fat and increases lean body mass (therefore increasing your metabolism)!

The list goes on and on…

I agree with the concept of Health Assurance it makes alot more sense to take care of yourself in the present then to let yourself go and pay high premiums and co-pays.
